Star Trek: Outpost – Episode 39 – Half the Battle

Discovering the alien menace infesting the station was only half the battle for the inhabitants of Deep Space 3…can they find a way to stop the invaders and save the station before it is too late?
In the aftermath of the death of the USS Trosper’s quartermaster, Dr. Breetal and Lt. Farmer work to analyze the evidence…but what they discover is more than they bargained for: a very dangerous – and nearly invisible enemy – lurking in the darkness.
While the 214 continues its work on the station, Dr. Breetal makes an interesting discovery after examining Goshen’s body. Meanwhile, Dr. Winston wrangles a deal with Vurk and Tirgil – one that has far reaching implications for Lt. Exler.
The trader Genaro Boak makes some new friends among the crew while Lt. Farmer continues his search for Goshen’s killer…but the investigation takes a darker turn when another body turns up in an unexpected place.
Participants from the 2012 Starfest Science Fiction Convention in Denver helped put together this special edition episode. In this vignette, go back to the last days of the USS Leone…a decommissioned Oberth-class vessel destined for salvage at Deep Space 3. Only, not is all as it appears…for the ship has a hidden secret….one that could prove deadly to the station…and its crew.
The hunt for Goshen’s killer continues while Lieutenant Exler finds herself restricted to the station after scuffling with the Ferengis Vurk and Tirgil, giving her time to contemplate jumping ship and “taking the flivver for a four-corners.”
Having found Goshen dead inside a bulkhead in the disused plaza area of Deep Space 3, Lt. Farmer launches an investigation into his mysterious death – and EVERYONE aboard the station is a suspect!
The 214th Starfleet Construction Battalion arrives at Deep Space Three and Commander Twist plunges headlong into the culture of the station. And while Captain Buchanan remains confined to Sickbay, struggling with the issue of potentially losing his control of DS3, many – including those with nefarious intent – see the 214’s arrival as a prime opportunity.
While Torkelson continues to prepare for the arrival of the Starfleet Construction Battalion, Lt. Farmer leads the desperate search for the missing Captain Buchanan and the Ferengi, Goshen. Meanwhile, Vurk and Tirgil strike a new deal that has far-reaching implications.
While Captain Buchanan continues his recovery, Tork forges ahead with his plans for the station. Meanwhile, Deep Space Three receives some unexpected guests.
